I am the Culinary Arts teacher at the Wayne County Career and Technical Center. The Culinary Arts program began at the Vo-Tech in August of 2011. This program is designed to introduce high school students to what a career would look like in foodservice. I am a University of Alabama graduate with a B.S. in Food and Nutrition and M.S. in Human Nutrition. Food and its components are my passion. During the 2013-2014 school year I recieved Wayne County's Teacher of The Year and was also awarded The Alan R. Barton Excellence in Teaching Award by Mississippi Power. During Feburay of 2015 my 2nd year program recieved 1st place at state ProStart competition and went on to Anahiem, CA to compete on a national level. The program is currently in its 6th year, and continues to grow with each passing year. I look forward to continuing this program and to what the future holds.
