My name is Laurie McGraw. I have been employed at WES as a speech therapist since my move back to Waynesboro, my hometown, in 2003. I lived in Shreveport, LA since 1976 and attended college at LA Tech, in Ruston, LA for my undergraduate degree in Speech/Language Therapy. While working as a speech therapist in Caddo Parish School System, in Shreveport, I graduated with a Master's degree in Communication Disorders from LSU-Medical Center, School of Allied Health, in Shreveport, LA in 1989. Throughout my career I have worked in various settings: school systems, nursing homes and acute/rehab hospitals.
I enjoy working as a speech therapist at WES. Working with children who have speech difficulties is a challenge and also very rewarding, as every child is different. Phonemic skills are very important for isolating sounds, sound blending skills and learing to read.
Since my move home, I married again and now live in Waynesboro most of the time. My husband, John and I have a home in Mobile, where we also spend some time. We have 2 dogs and love the "great outdoors". It is wonderful to be back home with my family and we hope to live in Waynesboro full time in the very near future.
