2016-2017

"It's Going To Be A Spectacular Year!"

 Come and See...

This will be a year like no other.  That's what makes the journey of learning so special; each year is unique to itself and holds endless possibilities with so many hopes, aspirations, and successes.  Welcome to my webpage (if this is your first visit) and to the new 2016-17 school year.

I have been a Buccaneer all of my life even though I have been teaching English and reading at Buckatunna Elementary School for fifteen years.  I graduated with a B.A. from the University of Southern MS in English Education with an endorsement in history and a minor in secondary education.  I graduated from William Carey University with a Master’s in Secondary Education.  I love to teach.  Every student is important in our learning community, and all students deserve to be a part of a classroom that promotes a culture of learning.

As a professional learning community, we must all work together in order for our students to learn.  Parents, I need your support.  Students, I need your cooperation, too.  We all need each other in order to achieve success, and we can be successful together.

Therefore, I am always open to positive suggestions and will listen to ideas that help foster student growth and achievement.  Parents are encouraged to call as needed with any matters of concern relating to their children's education.  The best time to call or schedule conferences will be between 1:30 P. M. and 2:00 P. M. on Tuesday through Thursday.  If I am unavailable, I will return your call as soon as possible.  Scheduled parent-teacher conferences are always valued and respected.  I ask that you just call and setup a date and time for a conference or send me an email.  Only emails that are sent from a parent or legal guardian will be entertained.  Our district policy does not permit the transmission of emails or texts between teachers and students.

Once again, I look forward to working with you and your child.   Therefore, let us work together with a spirit of excellence, unity, and mutual respect so that our school can continue to improve and our children can become their very best.

Sincerely,

Mrs. M. Gandy, ELA Teacher
