Fall is finally in the air! October is an eventful month for students with nine week's tests and report cards going home on the thirteenth.
To end the first nine weeks, students will be reviewing the first two standards we have covered, which are the most heavily weighted standards on the state test. We will begin the second nine weeks by reviewing students' results from the exam and the first writing workshop. We will then move on to comparing tone in two short stories, which the students will later write an essay on. Finally, students will end the month by making inferences and analyzing setting in a short story.
Although we have been making some adjustments this year, the school year has gotten off to a good start. I hope that I and your children can continue to build skills that will benefit them for many years to come.
