September 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am pleased to say that we have started off to a great year! I just want to remind students and parents to continue reviewing over the student handbook for the various policies that are listed such as dress code, absences/make-up work, tardies, and behavioral policies.

I want to encourage your child to continue following the school policies, as well as the classroom rules and procedures. As your child’s teacher, I have high expectations, and I am requiring your child to read more and  to use critical thinking skills. I want your child to strive to do his/her best in my class and to succeed! Please encourage your child to remain focused, to complete the tasks that are given, and to also ask questions when needed.

If you would like for your child to have a book assigned to him/her for home use, please notify me in writing. (Send me a note stating that you would like one.) I am going to be sending home in the near future  a letter with your child’s ID and password for him/her to have access to our books via the internet.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to send me a note or call the school at 601.735.3159 to leave me a message or set up a parent conference.

Thanks for all you do as a parent!

Sincerely,

Jeannie Pruitt,  7th/8th Reading
