Monday

  • The teacher will introduce the reading skill and the content-area vocabulary for the selections.
  • The student will complete the Reading for Information selection (analyze functional texts, understanding, and using information from signs and Websites).
  • The teacher will introduce the Comparing Literary Works sections.
  • The student will complete the vocabulary exercises and read the selections.

Tuesday

  • The teacher will review the reading and literary analysis skills for the selections.
  • The student will complete activities (Critical Thinking Questions, After You Read activities, All-in-One Workbook pages, and the Open Book Test).

Wednesday

  • The teacher will review the reading and literary analysis skills for the selections.
  • The student will complete the Weekly Test for the Comparing Literary Works selections.
  • The student will begin an outline and prewriting for Thursday’s writing assignment.

 

Thursday

 

  • The teacher will review the writing process for writing a descriptive essay.
  • The student will produce a descriptive essay.
