·      The teacher will introduce the Literary Analysis Skill: Analyzing theme and philosophical assumption through the reading of the short story, “How Much Land Does a Man Need?”

·      The student will complete activities associated with the story including the anticipation guide, a graphic organizer, and Reading Check questions in the textbook.

·      The teacher will introduce a lesson in the MS Test Prep Workbook and questions from Practice Test 3 from the MDE website in preparation for the Subject Area Test.

·      The teacher will continue modeling and instructing students on theme and philosophical assumption through the reading of the short story, “How Much Land Does a Man Need?”

·      The student will complete activities associated with the story including the Critical Thinking questions in the textbook.

·      The teacher will introduce a Lesson in the MS Test Prep Workbook and questions from Practice Test 3 from the MDE website in preparation for the Subject Area Test.

Wednesday, March 19, 2014

·      The teacher will continue modeling and instructing students on the reading skills and literary analysis skills related to the selection.

·      The student will complete selected pages in their All in One Workbooks.

·      The teacher will introduce a Lesson in the MS Test Prep Workbook and questions from Practice Test 3 from the MDE website in preparation for the Subject Area Test.

·      The student will complete the weekly test.

·      The teacher will introduce a Lesson in the MS Test Prep Workbook and questions from Practice Test 3 from the MDE website in preparation for the Subject Area Test.

 Friday, March 21, 2014

·      The teacher will review the weekly test with the students and remediate/retest as needed.

·      The teacher will introduce a Lesson in the MS Test Prep Workbook and questions from Practice Test 3 from the MDE website in preparation for the Subject Area Test.

Enrichment Activities will include the Connecting to Social Studies worksheet where the students will have to read and contemplate questions on communism, economy, and the effects on the social and economic conditions of the peasant class.

Remediation Activities will include completing the Reading Skill Graphic Organizer A and/or the Literary Analysis Graphic Organizer A to reinforce the reading and literary skills. This activity can be completed using cooperative learning groups.
