Monday, February 24, 2014

·      The teacher will introduce the Literary Analysis Skill: Reading for Information in technical articles and news releases. The teacher will then introduce the skill: Comparing points of view in fiction through the reading of the short story, “One Thousand Dollars.”

·      The student will complete activities associated with the story including the Critical Thinking and Reading Check questions in the textbook.

·      The teacher will introduce a lesson in the MS Test Prep Workbook and questions from Practice Test 3 from the MDE website in preparation for the Subject Area Test.

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

·      The teacher will continue modeling and instructing students on comparing points of view through the reading of the short story, “By the Waters of Babylon.”

·      The student will complete activities associated with the story including the Critical Thinking and Reading Check questions in the textbook.

·      The teacher will introduce a Lesson in the MS Test Prep Workbook and questions from Practice Test 3 from the MDE website in preparation for the Subject Area Test.

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

·      The teacher will continue modeling and instructing students on the reading skills and literary analysis skills related to the selection.

·      The student will complete selected pages in their All in One Workbooks.

·      The student will review the skills learned in the semester so far in preparation of their Nine Weeks Test.

      Thursday, February 27, 2014

·      Second and fourth blocks will complete the Nine Weeks Test. First and third blocks will continue reviewing skills and completing activities associated with the stories.

 Friday, February 28, 2014

·      First and third blocks will complete the Nine Weeks Test. Second and fourth blocks will continue reviewing skills and completing activities associated with the stories.

Enrichment Activities will include the Connecting to Technology worksheet where the students will have to contemplate and discuss the tradeoffs associated with specific technological devices.

Remediation Activities will include completing the Reading Skill Graphic Organizer A  and/or the Literary Analysis Graphic Organizer A to reinforce the reading and literary skills. This activity can be completed using cooperative learning groups.
