And students will discuss after completion. Guided Practice/Discussion: In groups the students will complete Activity 2: Risks and Questions. Distribute the handout of newspaper article, “Oak Harbor teen drowns in North Whidbey Lake” and “Before You Go in the Water.” The teacher will ask students a questions pertaining to article. Discussion: The students will discuss question and write their ideas on paper. Discuss response after completion. Independent practice/Activity: The students will continue in groups and read/complete handout “Before You Go in the Water.” The group members will explain why each questions is important? The students and teacher will discuss activity after completion. What did you Learn? Closure Activity WHST:9-12.1a RST.9-12.4.

The teacher and students will discuss after completion.  Independent/Guided Practice: The students will organize notes and study for test. The students will complete test on Home Safety. After test the students will turn in organize notes, pre-bells and test for a grade.

New Intro/Set: The teacher and student will start on new lesson Safety on the Road. Independent Practice: The students will group and start on Q&A 27.3 on Automobile Safety. Then discuss Q&A after completion. What did you Learn? The students will complete lesson review 1-5 on page 724.The teacher and students will discuss after completion. The teacher and students will watch short video on Automobile Safety. The students will write a brief description of what they learned from the video. What Did You Learn? = Closure Activity.
