Science Journals: research why titanium is used for body implants and why it is used in aircraft landing gear.

Science Journals: research why americium is used in smoke detectors.

Science Journals: List all of the elements and compounds you can think of without looking them up. Then look up the symbol and formula for each.

Science Journal: Keep a log of chemical changes that you encounter in a 24 hour period. The log should describe each change and list clues that let you know that it was a chemical change.

Science Journals: Compounds called nitrates played an important role in the history of Chile. Research what chemical property makes nitrates important and what role they played in Chile.
