The Mississippi Construction Education Foundation from the Southern District has chosen Glenn Jones as student of the month for October. Glenn is a third year student in Construction: Carpentry at Wayne County Career and Technical Education Center. His carpentry instructor, Drew Miller, nominated him for his many contributions to the program. Glenn has a 3.0 GPA, perfect attendance, and no disciplinary history. He is very respectful to the entire faculty and staff. His peers look to him for guidance and instruction on projects while in the shop area. Glenn is a third year member of the SkillsUSA student organization for competition. He is training for the 2014-15 competition in “Masonry” and “Team Works”. Glenn has received “Best All Around” in the Construction: Carpentry program at WC-CTE for the past two years. He plans to attend Gulf Coast Community College next year to complete a trades program with an emphasis in welding. In April, a MCEF Student of the Year will be selected from the monthly winners and will be awarded a cash prize of $250.
