Elisa Lofton, Librarian
Hours of Operation: The library is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Scheduling Policy: Students visit the library once a week at a specific time with their class. Students can visit the library at other times if Ms. Lofton does not have a scheduled class. Teachers can arrange for their classes to visit the library for the purpose of conducting research, library skills, or class projects by consulting with the librarian. The WRS library serves students in grades K-8.

WRS Library uses Destiny software to catalog and maintain our school library collection. Students in grades 3-8 can log on to the Destiny Portal website using their Accelerated Reader username and password. A link to Destiny Portal is located on the Wayne County School District website and the WRS page (accessible through the WCSD website) under Quick Links. Students can check their library account for overdue books, check for fines, and search for and place books on HOLD through the Destiny Portal.
Students can also access Destiny Quest on the Destiny Portal. Click the link below to watch a short video on how students can use Destiny Quest to search for books, ebooks, and other resources in our library.
Students in grades K-8 may check out 3 items at a time.
Items are checked out for a period of 2 weeks.
Items may be renewed if a student still needs them after 2 weeks.
Reference books such as dictionaries and encyclopedias are to be used in the library only. Teachers can check out these reference books for classroom use only.
Due dates are stamped in the back of books when they are borrowed.
There is a fine of $.05 (five cents) per school day for late items.
When a student’s fine reaches the amount of $1.00 or more, they cannot check out additional materials until they make an effort to pay their fine.
Students will be notified of fines owed by their homeroom teacher or Ms. Lofton.
Students can also check their library account for fines by logging on to Destiny Portal.
Items overdue by 3 months will be considered lost and will have to be paid for in full.
Returning students will not be allowed to check out books in the library until an effort has been made to pay their fines.
Students are charged the replacement cost of any items lost.
If no effort has been made to pay for a lost item or items within 1 month of its due date, the student’s library privileges will be suspended.
